Product overview
Ready mix concrete (RMC) is batched by weight at a plant, mixed to a designed grade and delivered in a transit mixer. Compared with site mixing you get consistent strength, no material storage on site and far faster pours.
The trade-off is logistics. Concrete must be placed within its initial setting window, so access, pump position and pour sequence have to be planned before the first mixer leaves the plant.
Typical units: cubic metre. Quoted per cubic metre by grade; pumping charges and demurrage are usually extra.

Is RMC cheaper than site-mixed concrete?
Per cubic metre it often costs a little more, but consistent strength, no wastage, no storage and much faster pours usually make it cheaper overall on anything above a small slab.
What slump should I specify?
Typically 75–100 mm for regular placement and 100–150 mm for pumped concrete, adjusted with admixtures rather than added water.
