What moves the cement price per bag
Cement is a freight-heavy commodity: a bag that leaves a grinding unit at one price can land 15–20% higher a few hundred kilometres away. The main drivers are pet coke and coal costs, diesel and freight, state-level levies, and seasonal demand — rates typically soften through the monsoon and firm up from October as construction restarts.
Brand also matters. Premium lines from UltraTech, Ambuja, ACC usually sit above regional brands for the same grade, while PPC is often a little cheaper than OPC 53. For slabs and structural work, check the grade before comparing on price alone.
