UPVC Windows & Doors

UPVC windows are multi-chambered rigid PVC profiles reinforced with galvanised steel inside. They do not rot, rust or need painting, and the gasket-and-multipoint-lock design makes them far more weather-tight than a traditional aluminium sliding window.

Performance comes from the whole assembly: profile wall thickness, steel reinforcement, hardware quality, glass specification and above all the quality of installation and sealing at the reveal.

Reinforcement

Galvanised steel inside the chamber; thickness matters for large spans.

• Ask for the profile wall thickness and the steel reinforcement gauge in writing.
• Specify the hardware brand — locks and rollers fail long before the profile does.
• Insist on proper sealing at the wall reveal; most leakage complaints are installation, not product.
• Get the glass specification stated: thickness, type and whether the DGU is genuinely sealed.
